VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO GATHER SIGNATURES FOR A BALLOT MEASURE
THAT WOULD BAN CIRCUSES WITH ANIMALS IN THE CITY OF SAN JOSE

DISTRIBUTE WIDELY
All animal friendly groups welcome to join.
Schools, teachers, citizens, families and children are also welcome to join.

Groups supporting such efforts:
Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), People for the Ethical Treatment
of Animals (PeTA), In Defense of Animals (IDA), Silicon Valley in Defense of
Animals (SVIDA), The Fund for Animals, Friends of Animals, and others.

Fellow animal friends, the animals are calling on us and we have an
opportunity to ban wild animal acts in the city of San Jose through a local
ballot initiative. We need volunteers to commit to help us throughout the
entire signature collecting process in order to put this ban on the ballot
and take the issue to the people. We are anticipating to get started on this
campaign by the beginning of June or July, 2004 at the latest, we will have
six months to gather the necessary signatures, approximately 32,000 (actual
number required 30, 686).

Many cities across the U.S. and the world have already enacted bans such as
this one. It is time for us to use the political tools available to us to
help animals.
