NEWSHOUR INTERVIEWS PORK PRODUCERS

NewsHour with Jim Lehrer interviewed Dave Roper, the NPPC environment 
committee chair and producer from Kimberly, Idaho, last week. The segment 
expected to air in mid-May will look at the role of science and politics in 
regulating confined animal feeding operations. NewsHour had already 
interviewed Gerald Warren of Warren Swine Farms in Sampson County, N.C.

    According to the NPPC, the interview focused on the pork industry's 
position on CAFOs, their affect on the environment and how best to regulate 
CAFOs in the future. NewsHour airs on Public Broadcasting Stations. Check
