AR-News: (US-ky) Support widespread for law on animal euthanasia

After three years of effort, a new state law prohibiting euthanasia by
gunshots in animal shelters took effect last week.
Rep. Roger Thomas, D-Smiths Grove, had sponsored a bill to ban shooting
dogs or cats in each of the past three legislative sessions, and the
proposal finally passed this year as an amendment to a Senate bill
regarding veterinary licensing, then was signed into law by Gov. Ernie
Fletcher.
Thomas said people across the state called in support of the measure.
