AR-News: (US VA): Help Stop the Needless Suffering of Canadian Chickens

On modern factory farms, tens of thousands of chickens are crowded
tightly together inside dark, filthy sheds until the day when they are
violently gathered and thrown into crates headed for the slaughterhouse.
Housing animals in such high concentrations and oppressive conditions
inevitably facilitates the onset and spread of diseases. One of these,
avian influenza, has been discovered in British Columbia, Canada, and in
order to protect the financial viability of the very industry that
creates these horrific conditions in the first place, the Ministry of
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) has called for the killing of
approximately 19 million birds in an attempt to eradicate the disease.
