AR-News: (UK) Animal Rights Protest Passes off Peacefully

Police tonight said a major animal rights demonstration in Cambridge passed 
off without incident.

Around 500 people took part in the demonstration but police said there were 
no arrests and praised protesters’ behaviour.

The march was the latest stage in a campaign by animal rights groups to close 
down the pharmaceutical testing firm Huntingdon Life Sciences, which is based 
in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

The firm, which used animals for testing, has been a target for animal rights 
campaigners for many years.
