The following is a response by Kraft Foods regarding a letter I wrote the
company in reference to their new commercial in which a scientist is eating
DiGiornio's pizza while teasing and taunting a chimpanzee in a laboratory
cage. My message basically referred to the sacrifice of laboratory animals
and the disrespect shown in presenting their situation as humourous for
financial gain, not the least of which includes the teasing and taunting of
a captive chimpanzee being used for research.

Thanks for visiting our website. We're glad you thought enough of us to
share your comments.
We consider our advertising as our company's voice to the public and to
consumers like you. It
concerns us when one of our consumers expresses disappointment with an
advertising campaign.
With so many different audiences viewing our advertising and forming a wide
range of opinions,
it's hard to create advertising that makes everyone happy. For the most
part, consumers reaction
to our commercials and print advertising has been positive.
We always want to hear what you're thinking. Even though we can't promise
we won't use this
ad anymore, we want you to know we've shared your opinions with our
marketing and
advertising teams.

DiGiorno's new commercial/It is not only cruel but also extremely
disrespectful of the sacrifices
made everyday by these and other animals for our medical research.
