AR-News: (UK)City to host vegan festival

MANCHESTER hosts its first vegan festival next month.

The Vegan Society says it has chosen the city because more people are
becoming vegans using restaurants and cafes such as the Eighth Day on
Oxford Road and Earth Café, in the Northern Quarter.

Vegans do not eat meat, but also rule out all products from animals,
including milk, eggs and cheese. Most also avoid wearing leather and opt
for synthetic alternatives instead.

The Society has also launched an electronic guide to finding animal-free
products.
