Hi Sherrill--I read your request and think I may have an idea. At the Genesis Awards a couple of weeks ago, a comic book was given to all the patrons through the Doris Day Animal Foundation. It is a marvel comic book called "X-Men Unlimited" and the title of this particular volume is "Can They Suffer" and it is about animal abuse. The information for Doris Day is:
Doris Day Animal Foundation
Suite 100
227 Massachussetts Avenue, NE
Washington, DC 20002.
phone: 202-546-1761
email: info at ddaf.org

Perhaps you can contact them and see if they will donate copies of this comic book to your shelter. Good luck.

Does anyone know of a group willing to send me about 500 flyers or magazines or coloring books I can donate to this very special shelter that will affect these children in a positive way in understanding the correlation between their own abuse and the abuse that many animals dnsure in abusive homes?

This is an especially honest, humane, pro-active shelter that I highly recommend, and as much as I donate to them, I feel such a booklet would be tremendouly educational to the children and show them that they have a connection and comaradie to these animals who are neglected and/or abused.

Thaks for any ideas, help, or suggestions.

  Sherrill Durbin

P.S. The material will be hand-delivered by me to the shelter.
