AR-News: (NZ) SPCA Given Custody Of 'Tipa'

The Bay of Islands SPCA has been given custody of a dog which was dragged 
behind a car as punishment for running away. 

It is accusing the German shepherd-huntaway cross' previous owner of wilfully 
ill-treating a dog and failing to provide veterinary treatment for it. 

The animal's wounds were so deep several bones were exposed. 

Now it has been given custody, the SPCA can look at giving 'Tipa' to one of 
the 25 people who have offered to take him in following nationwide publicity 
about the case.
