AR-News: (AU) Dogs, cats face council ban

DOGS and cats may be banned from a new Hobart subdivision to protect wildlife.

The Hobart City Council development and environmental services committee this 
week considered amendments to the council's planning scheme to incorporate 
Ridgeway Local Area Planning Provisions. 
The site development plan for a proposed eight-lot subdivision at Proctors Rd 
will be considered by the council in association with the planning 
amendments. 
This proposes a ban on keeping domestic cats to limit impacts on native 
fauna.
