> National Cruelty-Free Week aims to provide the general public with an
> introduction to the issue of animal testing through the BUAV's 'ethical
> consumer' campaigns, educating people about how to boycott animal tested
> products and make positive choices by going cruelty-free. Last year
> hundreds of people contacted the BUAV for the first time ever to ask for
> info on cosmetics testing and then went on to find out about other areas
> of vivisection too such as medical research or chemicals testing.
>
> This year National Cruelty-Free Week will run from 5-11July 2004. We are
> looking for active supporters or local UK groups to hold street
> collections in your local area - would you be able to take part? The BUAV
> can supply all the information you'll need including stickers, leaflets,
> posters and collecting tins as well as helping to publicise your event
> with press releases to local media.
>
> To take part in a street collection call Campaigns Assistant Tracey
> Davanna on 020 7700 4888 or email tracey.davanna at buav.org with your name &
> address to receive a BUAV Activities Pack containing all the information
> you'll need to get you started.
>
> Parachute Jumps or White Water Rafting
> Are you daring & adventurous? Ready to take a challenge of a lifetime?
> Then why not take a leap for lab animals and organise a sponsored
> parachute jump on behalf of the BUAV's campaigns? There are four different
> 'jumps' you can choose from, each one guaranteed to be the thrill of a
> lifetime. All training is provided and if you raise the minimum amount of
> sponsorship for the BUAV you will be able to take part for FREE!
>
> Or if you & your friends or colleagues can make up a team of six people or
> more, why not make a splash with a white water rafting challenge? There
> are places all over England, Scotland and Wales where you can take part
> and if you get enough people together you can compete against each other.
> All training is provided and if you raise the minimum amount of
> sponsorship for the BUAV you will be able to take part for FREE!
>
> To take part in either of these exciting sponsored challenges for
> Cruelty-Free Week, call the BUAV on 020 7700 4888 or email
> fundraising at buav.org with your name & address and ask for a Parachute jump
> and/or White water rafting Pack containing all the information you'll
> need.
>
> As an active campaigner to the BUAV, we cannot thank you enough for all
> the hard work you do on behalf of the millions of animals suffering in the
> name of vivisection. Without your support, we would have a difficult task
> of getting this information out into the public arena and letting people
> know the true cost and suffering of animal testing.
