AR-News: (AU) Zoo closed 15 weeks after opening

A PARK for exotic wild animals in far north Queensland that was raided by 
authorities last month has been closed to the public.

Mareeba's Wild Animal Park on the Atherton Tablelands was closed to visitors 
at the weekend after operating for only 15 weeks. 
Calls to the park went unanswered this morning but it was understood the 
closure would put around 20 people out of work and that a buyer was being sought. 
Gamekeepers would continue to care for the park's mainly exotic animals 
including lions, tigers, cheetahs, bears and monkeys.
