The Save a Sato Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to
improving the quality of life of homeless and abused animals in Puerto
Rico, and local Jeep distributor Chrysler International Services S.A.
(Cissa) have joined forces to raise awareness about the island’s chronic
problem of animal overpopulation.

Sato (pronounced sah-toh) is Puerto Rican slang for a mixed-breed dog or
cat. The two organizations recently donated resources to sterilize more
than 15 stray dogs so that they could eventually be adopted.

Jeep covered the cost of medicines and vaccinations, while Save a Sato
volunteers—headed by veterinarian Jose Marcos Vega and his staff at the
Alejandrino Veterinary Clinic—donated their time, services, and facilities.
