AR-News: (US) Protect Mute Swans -- Oppose HR 4114!

The opponents of mute swans in the Chesapeake Bay region have fired a 
deadly salvo in the ongoing dispute over non-native species and the 
health of the bay. Congressman Wayne Gilchrest (R-MD) has introduced the 
Migratory Bird Treaty Reform Act of 2004 (H.R. 4114), the result of 
which is that mute swans and other non-native bird species will again 
serve as scapegoats in the battle to clean up the bay. The bill would 
exempt from the protections afforded by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act 
any bird species which arrived in the United States as a result of 
intentional or unintentional human assistance. Your Representative in 
Congress needs to hear from you right away that all migratory birds 
should remain protected and that you oppose this dangerous, reckless
