The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has set up a system for
reporting violations. Anyone with knowledge or suspicion of violations can
alert the agency via the Internet or, in the case of violations that are in
progress, by calling the Wildlife Alert hotline.

"This is a convenience for those who have personal computers, and at the same
time it brings us in line with other states that are using technology to
their advantage," said Lt. Tom Haworth, law enforcement administrator for the
Wildlife Alert program.
To report violations via the Internet, go to www.myfwc.com/law/alert. To
report violations in progress, call (888) 404-3922. Both options are available 24
hours a day. Since 1979, the Wildlife Alert program has been offering rewards
of up to $1,000 for information that results in an arrest. With the online
system, those reporting violations can still collect a reward but must follow
directions for follow up contact information.
In 2003 Fish and Wildlife Commission officers made nearly 3,300 arrests as a
result of Wildlife Alert calls, and callers earned more than $35,000.
