Found dogs can present dilemmas for families

Local animal welfare group urges parents to watch pets that follow kids home

Scott Chrysler recently found his pit bull near his school and brought the 
apparently abused dog home.NEW IBERIA ? What do you say when your son calls to 
tell you that he?s found a nice dog, that he?s fed it and named it and 
?pleeeease? can he bring it home? 

Not an unusual request from a child, but for Scotty Chrysler?s mother, the 
situation was more complicated. 

As animal rescuers who provide short-term foster care for Lafayette People 
Assisting Animal Welfare, or PAAW, Janetta and Scott Chrysler have taken in as 
many as a dozen dogs at one time.
