AR-News: (US GA) After dog mauled by pit bulls, owner fights to save others

Amie Stasiak still gets teary when she talks about her beloved English 
bulldog, ''Georgia.''
   The Athens woman's voice gets even shakier when she speaks of Georgia's 
death. Stasiak returned from work March 12 to find that two pit bulls had jumped 
the fence enclosing Georgia in her Almond Drive yard. Stasiak said the pit 
bulls mauled and killed Georgia.
   According to Athens-Clarke County Animal Control reports, the two pit 
bulls belong to a resident in Stasiak's neighborhood. And several other 
neighborhood residents found their pets dead due to puncture wounds March 12. The pit 
bulls' owner had also been cited after the dogs killed a cat Aug. 19, according 
to Animal Control reports.
   Animal Control cited the pit bulls' owner on several offenses, including a 
leash law violation, Stasiak said.
