AGI) - Rome, Italy, April 1 - The Zoo-mafia's turnover in 2003 totalled 3 bln 
euros, basically the same as the previous year, according to LAV (anti 
vivisection league), which presented today its sixth report on Zoo-Mafia activities. 
The turnover is basically stready - said Ciro Troiano, who drew up the report 
- but that doesn't mean it is not evolving. The activities regarding animal 
fights and the relevant bets are no longer just regional. "Some organised 
groups have spread through the entire national territory, and sometimes even the 
international sphere". Besides, criminal infiltration is increasing in illegal 
butchery and in official horseracing, as well as the illegal trade of protected 
species. Even the issue of poisoned meat is worrying. Plus, the repression 
measures of the police are falling, reports LAV. (AGI) .
