URGENT ACTION ALERT - March 30, 2004


HB 5029 was reported out of the Senate Judiciary
Committee today and has been referred to the full
Senate for 2nd reading status to be immediately
scheduled for floor vote - probably tomorrow. 


Changes to the bill:


The $350,000 appropriation was removed. 
A $2 stamp was added: $1 to go to game fund, $1 to go
to non-game fund. 
At this time, the referendum language was not added.
Senate Majority Leader Ken Sikkema opposes a vote by
the people on the issue so we do not expect this
amendment to be added. 
WHAT YOU CAN DO:

1) CALL AND EMAIL YOUR STATE SENATOR, CALL THEM AGAIN!
