AR-News: (UK) Firefighters found man beating dog

FIREFIGHTERS who went to a blaze at a block of flats were horrified to find a 
dog being beaten by its owner, a court heard.
One fireman, Paul Bristow, from New Cross fire station, stepped in to save 
border collie Trixie, after it had been hit seven times, Greenwich magistrates 
heard on March 24.
Kieron Connelly, of Malpas Road, Brockley, was found guilty of cruel 
treatment of a dog on July 7 last year and given a three months' suspended sentence.
