AR-News: (AU) Activist fined for piggery protest

ANIMAL Liberation activist Ralph Hahnheuser has escaped a conviction for 
welding shut sow stalls during a daylight raid on a Tailem Bend piggery.

Hahnheuser – also expected to face a Victorian trail this year for allegedly 
contaminating feed for thousands of Middle East-bound sheep – was yesterday 
fined $140 after pleading guilty to damaging property and being unlawfully on 
premises. 
The Port Adelaide Magistrates Court was told he had wanted to expose the 
George Chapman Piggery for using "cruel" stalls that were smaller than required 
under a national code of practice.
