AR-News: (US IL) Horse Owners Against Slaughtering Facility

For Gail Vacca, owning horses is a privilege she takes very seriously. So 
seriously, she's fighting to ban slaughtering them in Illinois. 
"We don't eat them here and culturally it's not acceptable to us," says 
Vacca. "And this industry perpetuates a cycle of cruelty for horses."
Only a short distance from her farm is a horse slaughtering facility set to 
reopen next month. This horse owner says the practice needs to be stopped. She 
believes these animals aren't raised to be food.
