When you're creating emergency plans in case of a storm, tornado or other 
disaster, don't forget your furry friends.
Pets are not allowed inside emergency shelters, so if you're forced out of 
your home, you'll need a plan in place to take care of your pets.
The Cat Fanciers' Association offers these tips:
• Keep a photographic record of all of your pets, being sure to include any 
distinguishing marks. Keep the photos with other important papers, including 
vaccination records, and put them in resealable plastic bags that can be posted 
outside during rainy weather.
