Subject: Dachshund in need
Hi,
There is a male Dachshund who weighs about 15 pounds and is 5 years old who
was turned in to the shelter because his "family" said they thought
he might bite their 3 year old toddler (but never did to date). He is
in Sonoma County but we can get him to wherever he needs to go.
I spent about 30 minutes with him the other day and he is vocal, but he
never offers to bite. He would be a great companion for a
couple or single person. Probably not best suited for young children,
but I am thinking he would be fine with older ones. He was extremely
focused on the guy at the shelter who spends time with the dogs. He
wagged his tail, jumped in his lap, and really liked him. I took him for a
walk and gave him little treats and he finally jumped in my lap and was more
pleasant.
We do not have space in our program right now, but if someone has space and
can take him, we would be happy to post him on our site for the
added exposure.
I have pictures of him to send to anyone who may be interested, and I
can assist with transportation, but he NEEDS TO BE OUT OF THE SHELTER by THIS
Tuesday or they will have to euthanize him.
Please widely crosspost!
For the animals,
Jennifer Bird
