PALOMA and Valentina are homeless. So are Rosie and Chummy. They are among
the two dozen rabbits staying at the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA --
desperately in need of a home. "We get them usually in June when the novelty of the
Easter Bunny runs out," said Malu Trehan, outreach coordinator at the Humane
Society. "Usually we don't get so many. This is not a good sign."
There are 12 rabbits ready for adoption and 15 waiting in the wings. Many are
strays, while others come from homes where they can no longer be properly
cared for.
Only three have been adopted within the last two weeks.
