SOUTHBOROUGH -- While Doctor Dolittle may have talked to the animals, Dr.
Dani Cimino travels to them.
As the owner/operator of Crossroads Mobile Vet, the Southborough
veterinarian actually makes house calls, providing full-service veterinary care in
the comfy -- and familiar -- confines of the animals' abode.
"I just observed a need," says Cimino in describing the motivation for
starting the company. "After practicing in this area for about seven years, it
seemed to me the service would appeal to a lot of people. There are a bunch of
folks who either can't get care for their animals when they need it or don't
get it at all."
The advantages of vet house calls include convenience, especially for
people with busy work schedules, according to Cimino. The service is also ideal
for elderly pets, nervous pets, aggressive pets, people with multiple pets and
pet owners who have difficulty driving, according to Crossroads.
