The main reason for any pilgrimmage to Sonoma Saveurs is to eat foie gras -- 
as much as you want -- at an affordable price in its purest form. Start with 
artisan foie gras terrine au natural ($14), a healthy slab served with 
toasted country bread and a dab of date chutney. As it melted in my mouth, 
taste memories of indulgent lunches at ancient L'Ami Louis in Paris and inns 
in the Gascon countryside swept me away. So of course I ordered more, this 
time with a slice of grilled foie gras terrine in which the foie gras takes 
on a slightly smoky edge from searing before being gently cooked in the 
oven.
