OMAHA, Neb. -- A new city ordinance that helped lead to the discovery of more
than a dozen dead animals in a Omaha home last week is increasing the
workload on city pet inspectors."

Video: Inspectors Release Photos Of Filthy House
Charity Ivey, 50, lives at 3022 N. 48th Ave. and called the Humane Society,
requesting a permit to keep all of her cats. Humane Society officials arrived
to inspect the home, and found raw sewage and animal waste throughout the home.
Further investigation revealed eight dead cats in the home's basement, one in
the attic and eight animals in a freezer. Officials rescued seven other cats
from the home, many of them sick and malnourished.
