CHECK-UP: Acting inspector Brad Algar of the Peterborough Humane Society
checks a couple of cats seized from a farmhouse in Cavan-Millbrook-North Monaghan
Township last Thursday.
Peterborough Humane Society inspectors have not yet laid any charges
following the removal of 17 cats and four dogs from a home in Cavan-Millbrook-North
Monaghan Township last Thursday.
Brad Algar , acting inspector with the humane society, says it could take a
month before any charges are finalized because of the heavy workload staff are
currently facing.
The Humane Society visited the farmhouse on Whitfield Road prior to last
Thursday's seizure.
Officials ordered three adult tenants to clean up feces and urine scattered
around the residence and have a veterinarian check the animals.
They went back periodically to check but the residents didn't comply fast
enough.
