AR-News: (AU)No defence for animal cruelty

A 70-YEAR-OLD Tamworth man accused of animal cruelty was fined almost
$30,000 at Tamworth Local Court yesterday.

Peter Orr, of Piallamore, pleaded guilty to failing to provide 29 horses
in his care with proper and sufficient food, and failing to provide 32
horses with veterinary treatment.

The matter had been listed for hearing at Tamworth Local Court yesterday,
however, agreement was reached between Mr Orr and the RSPCA when he
entered a guilty plea at the 11th hour.

Mr Orr was fined a total of $28,272.
