A temporary restraining order barring members of an animal rights group from
picketing or threatening employees of a Hunterdon County biopharmaceutical
company was continued Monday by Superior Court Judge M. Allan Vogelson.
The order was obtained after a group of people, who had similar beliefs of
members of Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty, USA Inc., drove a truck flashing
graphic images of animals being mutilated through the East Cherry Hill
neighborhood of a Chiron Corp. executive on Jan. 3.
Individuals described in a lawsuit as affiliates of SHAC, USA returned
repeatedly to the home of Chiron chief executive officer Howard Pienover the next
six weeks, flooding the area with leaflets describing him as a "puppy killer."
