A HUGE global animal rights group will call for a boycott of Tasmania over
clearfelling and 1080 poisoning.
Britons will be urged not to travel to Tasmania or buy its products.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has 800,000 members and stars
such as Sir Paul McCartney and Pamela Anderson have promoted its causes.
PETA member and singer Chrissie Hynde accuses the State Government of
allowing trees up to 300 years old to be woodchipped, in a story to be published in a
British newspaper today.
Ms Hynde, recently on tour in Australia, said thousands of native animals
were then deliberately poisoned.
