Hi everyone,
Next Tuesday night, the 23rd, appears to be the last chance to stop the Monmouth County Park hunts from becoming a reality.
The Monmouth County Board of Recreation Commissioners, who will make the final decision on the hunts, will be holding their regular meeting. We have been told that two weeks following this, at their next meeting, they will make make that decision. So, this is the last chance we have to influence them. Also, I have been told that the park staff announced this date at the last public hearing, so we can expect the hunters to show in force.
I will be making a presentation to the board, but it's up to those people who live in Monmouth County to show up and take a stand. This is your home government at work - let them see your outrage.
The proposal calls for the opening of nine county parks, making this one of the single largest expansions of deer hunting in recent memory. If you have friends or relatives in Monmouth, make sure they get active now.
The meeting will be held at Tatum park, in Middletown. 352 Redhill Rd. From the parkway going north, take exit 114, make right at first light which will put you onto Redhill Rd. Go through the second light, and it's a mile and a half on the left.
