Rancher's geldings shot dead

Three valuable work horses were shot dead at a large ranch near Airdrie and a 
$5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of those 
responsible. Staff at Soderglen Ranches found three geldings, who range in 
age from four to six, dead in a pasture on St. Patrick's Day -- two laying 
together and another about 100 metres away. 
Skoal, Captain Cole and Chance -- rope horses worth an estimated $20,000 -- 
died in a hail of bullets, an autopsy revealed. 
"They had multiple wounds and a lot of damage in the heart and lung areas," 
said Scott Lees, ranch manager.
