AR-News: (US-pa)Vegetarian, vegan group seeking more meat-free menu items at local restaurants

A group of vegetarians and vegans recently founded in Venango County hopes
to convince local restaurateurs to offer more meat-free selections on
their menus.

Vegs of Venango, started late last year by Melissa Dummett of Franklin, is
collecting signatures on at least three petitions that will be submitted
to local restaurant owners. One of the petitions is located at God's
Little Garden, a natural food store in Oil City.

"What we're trying to do is - in a really nice way - let them know that
there's a demand for it so they know it's going to be worth their while to
do it," Dummett said. "We just want to have menu options. There are a lot
more people who are vegetarian and vegan than it seems."
