AR-News: (AU)Zoo owner faces court after raid

THE owner of a north Queensland exotic wildlife park has been ordered to
appear in court to face a breach of the Land Protection Act.

The summons follows a raid yesterday by authorities on the Mareeba Wild
Animal Park.

Queensland Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (NRME)
spokesman Greg Sullivan said investigations were continuing into concerns
regarding animal welfare, quarantine and importation issues.
