Dorchester Man Convicted in Frederick Co. Animal Cruelty Case

Frederick, Md. (AP) - A Dorchester County man has become the first person ever convicted in Frederick County for felony animal cruelty.
Thirty-two-year-old Terry Love, 32 of East New Market was convicted Wednesday in the beating of his dog November 3rd. He was also found guilty on a drunk driving charge.
Love was arrested after witnesses reported that they saw him hit and drag the springer spaniel named Ranger near a gas station in Myersville. Witnesses said he hit the dog with a leash.
Love was sentenced Wednesday to two years in prison. He was fined $500.00 dollars plus court costs.
