AR-News: (US IN) Police Crack Down on Dog Fighting

You've heard of Crimestoppers. Now there's canine Crimestoppers. 
Animal Care and Control along with the Indianapolis Police Department will 
kick off a new program Monday afternoon designed to go after those involved in 
dog fighting. 
Dog fighting convictions went up 400 percent last year in Marion County. It's 
now a felony to participate in such activity. 
"Dog fighting often involves other illegal activities such as gambling and 
illegal narcotics so everything is intertwined. So if we work as a team and as a 
group we're more likely to be effective at this program in combating dog 
fighting," said Margie Smith-Simmons, Animal Care and Control.
