(US)Government, Industry Experts to Address NAIA Conference

PORTLAND, Ore., March 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Three members of Congress will be
among a roster of public and private sector experts addressing the annual
conference of the National Animal Interest Alliance (NAIA) March 28-30 at
the Holiday Inn on the Hill in Washington, DC.
NAIA President Patti Strand said the two-day conference also will feature
representatives of medical, business, sporting and conservation groups in
panel discussions on how their fields are affected by extremists opposed
to animal and natural resource use.
Strand said Rep. Collin Peterson (D-MN) will discuss the importance of
alliance-building as a political strategy for defeating extremism. Reps.
George Nethercutt Jr. (R-WA) and Chris Chocola (R-IN) will update
participants on pending federal legislation to stop animal and ecological
terrorism.
