DELHI — Neither rain, nor sleet, nor sun soon will stop the dogs at the
Humane Society of Central Delaware County from having fun in their exercise yard.
The Delhi Humane Society has been awarded a $3,000 American Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Partners in Caring grant to build a pavilion
roof over the dog exercise area to keep the animals safe from inclement weather
and extreme sunlight, said shelter board President Ann Lukin on Friday.
"Our organization is so fortunate to have cultivated such a wonderful working
relationship with the ASPCA National Shelter Outreach," Lukin said. "This
team has given us a tremendous amount of assistance above and beyond funding.
They've been instrumental in helping the staff and the board move our
organization forward."
