increased rate of kidney failure among young dogs and cats, owners are advised to
pay more attention to what their pets are fed.
"It's a simple rule: cats' and dogs' kidneys can be affected by ingested

University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
He said the long-term salt intake commonly believed linked to kidney disease
in humans was one risk factor.
Sakol Jeraja, who feeds a huge number of stray dogs and cats, said some of

cats, which depended largely on dry food.
She assumed it was because of the salt content of both.
