The Red-Eared Slider Turtle has been nominated as one of the 100 world's
worst invaders by the World Conservation union and as 612-ABC Brisbane and ABC
Local Radio Queensland Afternoon Show Presenter Kelly Higgins-Devine discovered -
it has turned up in the Pine Rivers suburbs of Mango Hill and Kallangur.
First cane toads, then feral pigs, feral cats, feral dogs and fire ants - and
now we have the feral turtle.

Kelly spoke about this latest exotic invader with Scott O'Keefe, the project
officer for Pest Animals in Settled Areas within the Department of Natural
Resources.
