On the same day as Humane Action for Animals Lobby Day, hunters will
be holding a rally at the State Capitol, supporting the lowering of
the New York State hunting age. The Committee to Abolish Sport
Hunting will be coordinating a small counterpresence at this rally,
to ensure that media hear the other side of the story.
Part of the goal is to ridicule the hunters agenda with mock hunters
with signs like:
"No child left unarmed."
"Columbine kids for a lowering the hunting age." (sign holder will
wear black trenchcoat)
"Colombia High Was Just Target Practice" (site of a recent NY State
school shooting
"Kids Need Guns, Not Ejookayshun
Want to make some signs or hunter costumes?
Or would you like to be part of the fun and be a mock hunter?
Students will be especially effective in this role, to play off the
youth hunt angle.
If you'd like to help in either of these ways, call Anne Muller at
(845) 256-0200.
If you'd like to make signs or props (e.g. cardboard rifles) for the
day, but cant make it, we can designate a site in most parts of the
state to drop the stuff you make off.
Call Adam Weisssman at (201) 968-0595 or email nyc at lohv-usa.org to
find out the best place to drop off signs and props in your area.

"Kindness and compassion towards all living things is a mark of a
civilized society. Racism, economic deprival, dog fighting and
cockfighting, bullfighting and rodeos are all cut from the same
defective fabric: violence. Only when we have become nonviolent
towards all life will we have learned to live well ourselves.-- Cesar
