AR-News: (S. Africa) NSPCA outraged by lions' journey

The "traumatic and disorganised" journey of six lions to South Africa from 
Spain would be reported to the South African Veterinary Council, the NSPCA said. 
  
"This matter will be drawn to the attention of the South African Veterinary 
Council," said inspector Rick Allan of the Gauteng Wildlife Unit of the 
National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. 
  
Allan said the six were transported in inadequate crates which did not 
conform to International Air Transport Association (Iata) standards. 
  
"Not knowing the future of these animals - or the purpose of their dreadful 
journey adds to the aggravation and disappointment," he said.
