300 want to adopt mutilated cat. Calls flood SPCA and The Gazette from 
readers whose hearts were touched
  
More than 300 people jammed the Montreal SPCA's phone lines yesterday seeking 
to adopt a mutilated cat that was dumped on its doorstep.
The calls started coming in as soon as The Gazette hit the streets yesterday 
morning - with Lucky's story on the front page.
Horrified shelter workers discovered the mewling 5-month-old cat in a bloody 
towel on Monday.
