BLUFF CREEK, La. (AP) -- The district attorney says he saw no cruelty in a
competition pitting de-tusked feral hogs against dogs trained to hunt them
and grab them by the ear. But health complaints could shut down the operation.

The Feliciana Hog Dog Festival, like other "hog dog rodeos" across the
South, features one-on-one confrontations between dogs and wild pigs.

The pigs' tusks had been snipped with bolt-cutters to reduce the chance of
injuring the dogs, most of which appear to be pit bulls or pit bull mixtures.
