Credit-card giant MasterCard has ended its highly controversial sponsorship 
of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. The decision was made after 
PETA sent MasterCard’s president and board of directors undercover video 
footage of standard circus-industry training practices, showing screaming, terrified 
elephants being viciously attacked with sharp metal bullhooks and electric 
prods during behind-the-scenes circus training sessions.
