Former forestry head denies wrongdoing, govt committee says rule was broken 
Plodprasop Surasawadi, permanent secretary for Natural Resources and the 
Environment, is under investigation over shipments of tigers to China when he was 
director general of the Forestry Department, government officials said 
yesterday. 
Denying any wrongdoing, Plodprasop said he was prepared to sue his accusers 
once his innocence is established. 
A total of 11 shipments have been made under a section of the law authorising 
the export of endangered species from Thailand, and only two shipments were 
made during his tenure at the department. None of Plodprasop's predecessors 
were accused of the same wrongdoing, he said.
