RALLY FOR THE SEALS:
Activists are stepping up the pressure against the
Canadian government for the recent escalation of its
cruel commercial seal hunt. The harp seal hunt, which
targets weeks-old seal pups, has been reviled
worldwide for its brutality. Sealers bludgeon the baby
seals as they lie helpless on ice floes. Observers and
scientists have noted that many of the animals are
often still alive as they are skinned. The Canadian
seal hunt is the largest marine mammal hunt in the
world, and it is only growing. Canadian government
quotas have set the death toll at almost a million
seals over a three-year period.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:
March is a prime seal-killing month in Canada, and
it’s also a prime time for speaking out against this
cruelty. Join the rally against the seal hunt in
Washington D.C.

When: Wednesday, March 3, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Canadian Embassy, 501 Pennsylvania Ave NW (near
the Archives-Navy Memorial Metro stop).

If you can’t attend in person, you can add your voice
to the protestors by calling, emailing, or faxing
Canadian Embassy officials to demand they STOP THE
SEAL KILL! Send your message to:
