TECHNOLOGY AND APPROACHES TO REDUCE, REFINE AND REPLACE ANIMAL TESTING
April 5-7, 2004

This meeting will begin on Monday, April 5 at 1:00 pm
The USDA public meeting will follow on April 7 at 1:00 pm


The objective of this meeting is to discuss policy, provide guidance, and 
highlight new technologies with potential for use in developing in vitro 
assays for vaccine potency, consistency, and stability.  New approaches to 
measuring the quantity and quality of antigens in vaccines will be discussed 
with an emphasis on assessing their potential for use in veterinary 
biologics.  The meeting will also contain presentations on factors to 
consider when developing in vitro assays and on the statistical approaches 
used to evaluate their results.
